- The lawmaker’s exit from the PDP was contained in a letter read by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during Wednesday’s plenary
Two Akwa Ibom State Senators have quit the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and joined the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The Senators are Sampson Ekong, senator representing Akwa Ibom South, and Aniekan Bassey, the senator representing Akwa Ibom North-East.
The lawmaker’s exit from the PDP was contained in a letter read by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during Wednesday’s plenary.
They attributed their decision to join the APC to the protracted leadership crisis rocking the PDP.
The PDP has been grappling with the exodus of its top members and bigwigs to the ruling APC.
While several political bigwigs dumped the party for the African Democratic Congress, ADC, others have found solace in the APC.
