The national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Nentawe Yilwatda, has said that opposition parties no longer pose a threat to the ruling party.
Yilwatda, who spoke on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, said his priority is to expand the APC by wooing opposition politicians, including Peoples Democratic Party governors.
“There is no opposition for now, I’ve zero fears for them all,” he said, citing APC’s victories in off-season governorship polls in Edo, Ondo, Kogi and Imo states.
The chairman noted that two PDP governors — Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom and Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta — have defected to the APC this year, bringing the party’s control to 23 states.
Yilwatda vowed to unite the APC, consult widely with stakeholders and take “tough but calm decisions” in line with President Bola Tinubu’s leadership style.
