The victory, secured on Moroccan soil, extended Nigeria’s dominance in African women’s football and sparked jubilant reactions nationwide.

Moments after the final whistle, President Tinubu joined the team in their dressing room via video call, lauding the players and coaching staff for lifting the continent’s most prestigious women’s title. He declared, “Nigeria is proud of you,” praising their courage and national unity impact.

Tinubu reserved special praise for standout players, mentioning Esther Okoronkwo’s earned penalty in the 64th minute as a “courageous exercise.” He also commended goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie for her consistency and team captain Rasheedat Ajibade for leadership on the field .
