- According to him, Tinubu appointed Wike for a particular political purpose, and once it is achieved, the former Rivers State governor will be discarded
The former governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, has claimed President Bola Tinubu is using Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, to achieve his political objectives.
He said Tinubu will not hesitate to cut off Wike as soon as his goals are accomplished.
Speaking on Arise TV’s Prime Time on Tuesday night, Lamido said Tinubu is using Wike to make inroads into the South-South and secure a firm political foothold in the oil-rich region.
According to him, Tinubu appointed Wike for a particular political purpose, and once it is achieved, the former Rivers State governor will be discarded.
“Tinubu was looking for someone who would help him in his political interest,” Lamido said.
“The whole appointment of Wike was to make sure Tinubu secures the South-South.
“So far, he has been able to get Akwa Ibom and Edo states. Wike already has Rivers State.
“By the time Tinubu can secure the South-South in his own basket, Wike will become irrelevant, and he will remove him.
“He appointed Wike for a purpose, gave him an office for a purpose; by the time the purpose is no more, that’s the end of it.”
