- KWAM1 tried to board with excess liquid.
- He ignored aviation officials’ safety instructions.
Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as KWAM1, will be banned from accessing airport facilities in Nigeria for six months.
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority imposed the sanction following an incident involving the artist at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
The altercation disrupted boarding for a Lagos-bound flight on Monday, August 5, 2025.
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria confirmed the development after conducting an investigation.
According to FAAN, the incident happened during boarding for ValueJet Flight VK 201, scheduled to depart Abuja for Lagos.
In a statement on Wednesday, the director of public affairs and consumer protection, Obiageli Orah, said preliminary findings indicted the musician.
FAAN said KWAM1 attempted to carry a flask containing liquid beyond the permitted limit through the boarding gate.
Aviation security officials and the flight captain reportedly warned him in line with international safety regulations.
The rule prohibits hand luggage from containing liquids exceeding 100 millilitres.
KWAM1 allegedly ignored repeated warnings and declined to submit the item for inspection.
FAAN said the situation escalated when the artist moved to the front section of the aircraft and refused to obey crew instructions.
His actions reportedly disrupted the boarding process and delayed the flight.
