Super Eagles Striker Umar Sadiq Acquires Nigerian Club Ranchers Bees

Umar Sadiq

Super Eagles forward and Real Sociedad star Umar Sadiq has purchased Nigerian football club Ranchers Bees, multiple sources have confirmed.

Sadiq acquired the Kaduna-based side in partnership with Nigerian politician Bello El-Rufai. Former player and Sadiq’s ex-teammate, Nura Abdullahi, has been appointed as the club’s new president.

Ranchers Bees, once a force in Nigerian football, will now aim for promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) next season under the new ownership.

In their prime during the early 1990s, the club produced several Nigerian greats, including Daniel Amokachi, Dominic Iorfa, and Davidson Owumi. They famously won the WAFU Cup in 1993 but later slipped out of the spotlight.

With Sadiq’s investment and leadership, fans are hopeful that Ranchers Bees can return to their former glory and once again compete among Nigeria’s football elite.
