- Obi, who cited the inability of LP to field candidates in the election due to the crisis rocking the party, for his decision, called on his supporters and Nigerians to vote for ADC candidates.
The Julius Abure-led faction of the Labour Party, LP, has expressed its disgust at the latest political action of the presidential candidate of the party in the 2023 general elections.
Recall that Obi, on Thursday, took to his social media page to campaign for candidates of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of Saturday’s by-elections.
Obi, who cited the inability of LP to field candidates in the election due to the crisis rocking the party, for his decision, called on his supporters and Nigerians to vote for ADC candidates.
Reacting to the development, Abure said Obi’s directive to the electorate to vote for ADC candidates reeks of desperation, adding that the former Anambra governor has elevated subterfuge in the game of politics.
In a statement he personally signed on Friday, he described Obi as an ‘Uber’ politician, stating that he has been crying wolf where there was none.
According to him, Obi has booked a place for himself in the Guinness Book of Records as a person affiliated to many political parties pari passu, all in his desperation to preside over Nigeria.
“It is unfortunate that Obi has turned himself into an irony and a paradox in the Nigerian political space.
“He has turned himself into an “Uber” politician, not willing to take a position and stand by his decision,” he said
