Benue Assembly suspends six lawmakers over move to impeach Speaker


Six lawmakers in Benue State have been suspended for six months by the state House of Assembly.

The lawmakers were suspended over a plot to oust the Speaker, Aondona Dajoh.

The suspended lawmakers are members representing Makurdi North, Alfred Berger, his Kian state constituency counterpart, Terna Shimawua, Cyril Ekong of Obi state constituency, and James Umoru, representing Apa state constituency

Details of what informed the lawmakers’ move to initiate impeachment proceedings against the speaker of the assembly are not known yet.
