BREAKING: Court orders arrest of PDP chairman, Turaki

An arrest warrant has been issued against Kabiru Turaki, the factional national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Justice U.P. Kekemeke of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, High Court ordered the arrest of Turaki on Tuesday.

The order of arrest is not unconnected to Turaki’s refusal to appear before the court in a case filed by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP.

The judge held that Turaki has no justification to disregard the notifications of court summons and litigation against him.

The IGP had filed a one-count charge against Turaki for allegedly providing false information to the police in a petition dated October 2022.

The development comes as the warring factions of the PDP, one led by Turaki and the other faction led by Wike, move to put their differences aside, end the divisions in the party and the rift among party members.
