After the several demonstrations in Nigeria, Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) popularly called Shi’ites have stormed Nigerian Embassies in Washington, London and Turkey.

According to reports, the protesters stormed the Embassies in continuation of their demand for the release of their leader Ibraheem el-Zakzaky, who has been in detention since December 2015.

During their protest in Abuja, they clashed with policemen and it turned violent. Policemen and several protesters sustained injuries.

The protesters, carrying posters and placards with different inscriptions on them, called on the Nigerian Government to release their leader and his wife unconditionally to have access to proper medical service abroad. They were chanting  ‘Free Zakzaky, No to Injustice and We demand Justice.’

Several court orders had directed Nigeria’s authority to allow him to have access to proper medical attention, but none of the orders has been obeyed.
