Tragedy struck in Oyo town as flood swept away a baby during a heavy downpour at Langbodoko, Oyo town.
Records of repeated floods have caused great effects in Southwest sstates and Oyo state is no exception. There have been reports of loss of lives and properties as a result of flood.
WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the mom had left her outside with her little brother during the rain and stepped in and the girl child had been swept away before she returned.
Although the dead body of the baby was later retrieved after the rain and there are records of loss of properties.
In other news, a final year student of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba, Akoko Southwest Local Government has been reportedly swept away by heavy flood as a result of eight hours of rainfall in Ondo state; resulting to loss of life.
The deceased identified as Doyin who is an indigene of Ekiti state was reportedly swept away to an unknow location by heavy flood from a canal very close to her residence in the town.
