Nigeria’s Supreme Court Wednesday dismissed Peoples Democratic Party Presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar’s appeal for lacking merit.
WITHIN NIGERIA reports that Abubakar Atiku is challenging the Presidential tribunal judgement which affirmed the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari at the February 2019 poll.
Abubakar proceeded to the apex court after the presidential election petitions tribunal dismissed his petition against Buhari’s victory on September 11 on the ground that it “lacked merit.”
However,the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Tanko Muhammad, who led six other members of the apex court’s panel, delivered the three-sentence judgement, while dismissing the appeal for lacking merit.
