Drunk driver ‘kills’ court clerk in Delta

Delta State Police Command have arraigned a 35-year-old drunk driver identified as Kingsley Ekeugbah before a Chief Magistrate Court, Ogwashi-Uku in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State for alleged reckless driving, leading to the death of one person, and injuries to five others.

WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the 35-year-old suspect is charged with causing the death of 53-year-old Helen Odogwu who is a court clerk.

According to NATION report, Ekeugbah is accused of driving without care and attention to other road users, leading to the death of one woman and causing injury to three family members and a commercial motorcyclist.

The matter was adjourned by Magistrate Chuks Moeteke till March 25 for consideration of bail.

It was also learnt that the deceased court clerk would have read the charge sheet were she alive.
