“No peace for the wicked”, Mixed reactions as Nigerians pay tribute to late Ex-Oyo Governor, Ajimobi

Nigerians have taken to social media to react to the death of former Oyo state governor, Abiola Ajimobi.

Within Nigeria earlier reported his death, after it was confirmed that he died of the deadly COVID-19 ravaging the world.

The former governor was hospitalised at First Cardiologist and Cardiovascular Consultants Hospital, Lagos on June 2, 2020.

He was said to have tested negative for COVID-19 but the illness had caused his health to deteriorate.

Ajimobi’s wife, Florence, had earlier been hospitalised with her husband. She was, however, discharged.

Reacting to the news, Nigerians took to social media platform, Twitter and wrote;

“Ajimobi died. You are saying his soul should Rest In Peace. Why exactly should his soul Rest In Peace? Isaiah 57:21 “There is no peace for the wicked.””

“If Ajimobi death is finally true then its obvious the family succumb to those who wants to use the man to score political choice in APC, if not why unplugging the life support today that APC NWC got dissolved when he was clinically gone since last week….”

“If you want to be remembered fondly after you’re gone, be a good leader. Nobody should be guilted into saying any nice words about Ajimobi. He had 12 years as a public office holder to endear the people to himself. Whatever he’s getting now, he deserves it.”
