St.Louis rapper, Huey shot and killed at 31

St.Louis hip pop star, Huey, has died at 31-years-old.

The American rapper, best known for his classic single “Pop Lock & Drop It”, was shot and killed on Thursday night.

The sad incident occurred just before 11:00 p.m. in front of a home in the 8100 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard near Mable Avenue in his hometown of Kinloch.

According to police, the rapper whose real name is Lawrence Franks but was popularly called, Huey arrived at a local hospital gravely suffering from a gunshot wound.

He was however pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.

Police said another victim from the scene of the shooting came to the Ferguson Police Department with a gunshot wound. He was taken to an area hospital and treated for his injuries. He is expected to survive.

Huey who leaves behind a 13-year-old daughter was signed to Jive Records. He released his debut album Notebook Paper in 2007.
