JUST IN: End SARS protester killed in Lagos

At least one person has been reported shot and killed in Lagos State on Monday by the policemen dispersing #EndSARS protesters.

According to report, the End SARS protester was killed in Surulere, Lagos. The young man dressed in a red T-shirt and black trouser gave up after efforts by medics failed.

Police officers reportedly opened fire at the unarmed protesters during the Surulere protest, it was gathered.

Fellow protesters who shared the video of the deceased man said medical personnel who were also at the protest tried to save him but he eventually died.

In a footage shared on Twitter, the young man, already lying in a pool of his own blood, was hurriedly attended to by the medical team on-ground for the protesters but was confirmed dead after several attempts to resuscitate him.

His bloodied corpse has since been carried to the nearest hospital.

Meanwhile, young Nigerians protesting police brutality in Lagos barricaded the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Monday.

They also blocked all major roads around the State Government Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja, Monday afternoon.

Monday’s protests had youth in their hundreds gathered at different locations in the state to demand police reform after the proscription of the police unit.

The young people moved out in groups along the Secretariat Road in Alausa, and later gathered and blocked the expressway.

They were seen wielding different banners with loud inscriptions calling for the ban of the Police unit.
