Suspected phone snatchers kill 22-year-old man in Kano

Suspected phone snatchers in Yakasai Quarters of Kano Municipal Area of Kano State have reportedly stabbed a 22-year-old man identified as Abdussalam Muhammad on Friday, December 11.

This tragic incident was confirmed to newsmen by the mother of the deceased, Bilikisu Alhassan Nuhu Yakassai.

The deceased mother said some hoodlums broke into their house at about 3am.

She said the armed men took her phone and that of her children’s before they went into the room where Muhammed was sleeping, broke the door and stabbed him in the abdomen.

She said she took Muhammed on a motorcycle to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital where he died.

“I informed my mother-in-law about the incident in my house,  after I shouted with prayers and my neighbor came out, they ran after the thieves but they escaped,” she said.

The spokesperson of the Kano State Police Command, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa confirmed the incident.

The PPRO said one of the perpetrators had already been arrested.

He added that further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
