Notorious tout, Yemi Aleeba who ‘raped’ Osun Poly student reportedly released, Police reacts

A Magistrate court sitting in Ede on Friday has reportedly granted bail to a notorious tout identified as Yemi aka “Aleeba” who allegedly raped a female student of Federal Polytechnic Ede.

Recall that WITHIN NIGERIA had earlier reported that Yemi, who is notorious for perpetrating crime abducted and raped the poor student along Bode Road in Ede on Sunday evening and had since been arrested by the Osun state police command.

The incident caused rumpus and students of the institution insisted that the culprit must be brought to book.

While, the Police had during the week claimed that discrete investigation will be carried out and the culprit with be made to face the law.

Subsequently, there have been pressure on the victim and moves by politicians to carpet the matter to exonerate the suspect (Yemi, a political thug) from the trial, WITHIN NIGERIA learnt.

As the police initiate an inquiry to sort out the situation and prepare to present the offender before an Ede magistrate court for prosecution, politicians and other prominent people have persisted in applying pressure to the victim and her family to drop the case.

Several politicians, including relatives, are reportedly circling to try to convince the family of the female student to force their ward to drop the issue, a reliable source told WITHIN NIGERIA.

Meanwhile, it was gathered that the culprit was admitted to bail when he appeared before the Magistrate court in Ede on Friday.

Before report of his release went viral, the police have not in any event paraded the suspected rapist before reporters.

While sources in Ede confirmed that there was a massive jubilation at Yemi’s camp following a report of his release and that he was spotted walking freely.

A source close to the victim confirmed the culprit’s arraignment adding that the female student’s phone was seized, blocking her from divulging information to the public.

A source at Ede also told WITHIN NIGERIA that following a report of his release “Yemi’s boys are now bragging around and threatening to harm students and anyone having connection with his ordeal.”

When contacted, the Commissioner of Police, Kehinde Patrick Longe said “Yes, he was arrested but I’m not aware if he was arraigned today, I’m in Abuja and as at Yesterday (Thursday) he was in our custody, that’s all I can say.”
