Engineering sector has capacity to drive economy – NSE Chairman

The Chairman, Nigeria Society of Engineers, Bwari branch, Mrs Halimat Adediran, says the engineering sector has the capacity to drive the nation’s economy .

This is contained in a statement by the chairman on Thursday in Abuja.

Adediran said that in view of crucial role of the sector in the nation’s economy, especially in manufacturing and industry, engineering had become a driven tool for economic development,

She said that the branch had organised several technical workshops to improve the standard of engineering profession in a bid to contribute to the country’s economic growth.

“The branch has modestly contributed to the Federal Government’s desire to diversify the country’s economy in the post-COVID-19 era,’’ she said.

According to her, the effort is to provide a platform for a robust discourse and interaction between policy makers, investors and other stakeholders.

She expressed gratitude to the minister of agriculture for collaborating with the branch to grow the country’s agricultural sector.
