She spoke further that when she was recording this song; she was sitting in her living room and watching her father’s funeral, his body in the casket, her mother crying. The singer said she needed those emotions to record that song in its authentic form.

Teni added that everything she sang in the song was from a place of truth.

Reflecting on what inspired her 2018 hit track, ‘Uyo Meyo’, the musician said she was told by her parents to complete her academics before delving into music full-time.

The chubby singer revealed she got the inspiration from the challenges she faced before her graduation and that the song, ‘Uyo Meyo’, was recorded on her way to the graduation ceremony.

She added that ‘Uyo Meyo’ means when others win and you celebrate with them, your own too will come. She noted she was happy when her younger sister graduated before her and when her turn to graduate finally came, she was happy.
