How BNXN asked to be taken off my song – CKay

singer CKay sheds light on his collaboration issue with colleague, BNXN.

Nigerian singer CKay has recently disclosed that fellow artist BNXN requested to be taken off his song.

The singer shared this unexpected development in a recent interview with The Beat 99.9 FM in Lagos. CKay stated that his 2023 hit song, ‘Hallelujah‘, originally featured Seyi Vibez and BNXN, but a version featuring Blaqbonez was subsequently published.

He claimed that BNXN demanded to be removed from the song when Seyi Vibez’s management failed to clarify his verse.

Ckay also claimed he had no idea why BNXN insisted on being removed from the song.

One thing I can tell you is that BNXN asked to be taken off the record [‘Hallelujah’]. Why he asked to be taken off the record is a question you will have to ask him,” he said.

CKay also stated that he has no regrets about releasing the version with Blaqbonez, noting that it was a success.

In 2023, Ckay’s song ‘Love Nwantiti’, Sets The Pace, records Four Times Platinum In US.

The global mega single was certified four times platinum, the first by any African artiste. Ckay received this honour after ‘Love Nwantiti’ sold four million units in the United States alone.

Wizkid’s ‘Essence,’ which has sold 3 million copies and certified three times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), comes close to CKay’s record.

This shows that the song ‘Love Nwantiti’ was a great hit in the United States. Recently, we reported that the song was declared the best-selling African song in the United States of America for 2022.

In 2022, Ckay earned approximately $1.6 million on ‘Love Nwantiti’ sales alone in the United States, and it was the #47 best-selling single in the country.
