Why do Nigerians seize every chance to criticize a grieving widow – Mary Njoku

Mary Njoku knocks netizens who blame death of men on their widows

Nigerian filmmaker cum actress, Mary Remmy Njoku has thrown a question at Nigerians.

The mother of three, via her Instagram page, questioned why Nigerians seize every chance to criticize grieving widows, accusing them of playing a part in their partner’s death — from Mohbad’s wife, and now Junior Pope’s wife.

Mary Njoku noted how even when a husband dies in a plane crash along with other victims, some will still find a way to blame it on the wife, believing that she orchestrated it spiritually.

She sarcastically quoted their popular saying that, “She frustrated him and he boarded the flight to find peace in the air”.

Even in cases where a husband dies in a plane crash along with 100 other victims, some will suggest that the wife orchestrated it spiritually.
She frustrated him and he boarded the flight to find peace in the air”.

This is coming hours after a Twitter user, identified as Papi Jnr made a strong allegation against Junior Pope’s wife, Jennifer Awele, accusing her of sleeping with rich men.

In a since-deleted tweet, he claimed that the event planner had frustrated the actor and their marriage had been on edge before the news of his death.

His tweet coincides with that of Junior Pope’s colleague and friend, Dave Ogbeni’s revelation that all wasn’t well with the actor.

Dave had shared his last encounter with Junior Pope, alleging that the actor had cried out to him that he was dying slowly and wanted to share his story with bloggers, but he convinced him not to.

Many found the news unbelievable as they noted how family-oriented Junior Pope and his wife were.

In July 2023, Junior Pope and his wife celebrated their 9th wedding anniversary with a loved-up photo and sweet words.

Junior Pope admitted that their journey hasn’t been easy, but they trudge on trusting God to guide their every step.
