Former Federal senator Dino Melaye has weighed in on the ongoing supremacy battle in Nigeria’s music industry, declaring Afrobeats sensation Davido as its leader.

Dino Melaye, who represented Kogi West in the Senate, made his assertion amidst the backdrop of the longstanding rivalry between two of Nigeria’s biggest music stars, Davido and Wizkid.

Taking to his Twitter account, Dino expressed his opinion unequivocally.

Dino Melaye.

“Davido is undoubtedly the 001 in the Nigerian music industry and undoubtedly the most patronized globally.” Dino Melaye said.

Dino Melaye’s declaration comes at a time when fans and followers have been engaged in fervent debates over who holds the crown as the top figure in Nigerian music.

The senator’s endorsement adds fuel to the ongoing conversation surrounding the supremacy battle between Davido and his contemporary, Wizkid.

In other news, Nigerian Afrobeat sensation Wizkid has taken to social media to respond to a clap back from fellow singer Davido, blasting him and his entire crew members.

The exchange commenced when Wizkid took a playful swipe at Davido by sharing a video of him purportedly in tears following an alleged romantic involvement with an American model.

The move appeared to be a direct response to Davido’s earlier remarks.

Refusing to stay quiet, Davido, the CEO of 30BG, responded with a subtle dig at Wizkid’s music, hinting that his songs are no longer relevant.

This comment, however, served as fuel to the fire as Wizkid swiftly fired back, not holding back in his critique.

In his response, Wizkid dismissed Davido’s music and also criticized his crew members, calling them “pant washer songwriters.

He went on to ridicule them, asserting that they harbor delusions of superiority over him in the music industry
