Police arrests four suspects over possession of N5.7 million counterfeit notes in Abuja

Four suspects have been arrested by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police for allegedly being in possession of N5.7 million counterfeit notes in Wuye District.

This was contained in a statement released by the police public relations officer in Abuja, ASP Maryam Yusuf.

The suspects were identified as Kamal Haruna, Frank Onoja, Adejoh Stephen and Guede Nelson.

Yusuf said the suspects, during interrogation, confessed to using the notes to defraud members of the public.

She urged residents to report all suspicious movements through the emergency or distress numbers: 08032003913, 08061581938, 07057337653 and 08028940883.

In other news, WITHIN NIGERIA reported that some gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have again abducted a man and his brother-in-law at Gbazango extension, Kubwa, Abuja, barely three weeks after a journalist was kidnapped.

The fully-armed five-man gang invaded the residence of their victim, identified as Mr Peter, and whisked him away along with his brother-in-law at 12 am on Friday.

According to a report by Punch, the hoodlums shot three vigilante members who attempted to disrupt their operation.
