Tinubu speaks on the distribution of bags of rice in the north

National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu has stated that he is not responsible for the distribution of bags of rice in some states in the northern part of Nigeria.

This was contained in a statement released and signed by Tunde Rahman, the media aide to the former governor of Lagos State.

Recall that a viral video and pictures showing bags of rice branded with Tinubu’s face with the inscription ‘JAGABA – Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’ being distributed, recently made the rounds on social media.

Reacting to the development, the APC leader denied having anything to do with the initiative.

He, however, commended the efforts of the various groups that were responsible, for their benevolence.

“We have seen the images being circulated of bags of rice depicting Asiwaju’s face being distributed across parts of the North,” the statement said.

“I am not responsible for this initiative but l commend the efforts of the various volunteer groups responsible for this act of charity and love for one another, particularly in this Holy month of Ramadan.”
