Lawmaker representing Egbeda/Ona Ara federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Akin Alabi has explained the reason why he didn’t spray money at the funeral of Obi Cubana’s mother in Oba, Anambra state.
The Nairabet boss was subject of mockery over the weekend by Nigerians on social media who expected him to participate in the naira rain show of lavish wealth.
WITHIN NIGERIA had reported that the funeral of the mother of Chairman of Cabana Group, Obinna Iyiegbu popularly known as Obi Cubana was talk of the town as the billionaire nightclubs owner buried his late mother in grand style.
The funeral attracted several celebrities, businesspeople and politicians, who ‘sprayed’ huge amounts of naira notes at the event.
He also clarified that he actually sprayed N9,000 naira not N2,000 as widely speculated.
He wrote “As a government worker, I could not afford to spray (or was it sprinkle) more than this video and it was not 2k as bad-mouthed people said. It was 9k.
“Thank you Obi Cubana for hosting us. You deserve all the love.”
