A passenger train plying the Itakpe-Warri (Ujevwu) railway line has crushed a woman and her daughter to death in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State.
It was gathered that the sad incident which took place about 3:40 pm on Thursday occurred at the Aragba area of Orhuwhorun town.
According to eye witnesses, the victims were crossing the rail track when they were knocked down by the fast-moving train and crushed to death.
The incident was said to have led to a state of pandemonium in the area.
The acting Police Public Relations Officer of the Police Command in the state, DSP Edafe Bright confirmed the incident to NAN.
“It is confirmed,” Bright said.
