Bandit Attack: Army confirms security breach at NDA, gives details

The Nigerian Defence Academy has confirmed the bandits attack that took place at the residential area of the academy in Afaka.

WITHIN NIGERIA had earlier reported that Nigeria’s foremost military university, the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna was on Tuesday attacked by bandits who killed two officers and abducted four.

It was learnt that second Lieutenant Onah sustained a gunshot injury and is currently receiving treatment.

Eventhough the idenitites of military personnels who were shot dead by bandits and the other abducted were not revealed, WITHIN NIGERIA assembled that Major Datong was the abducted one while Lieutenant Commander Wulah and Flight Lieutenant CM Okoronkwo were shot dead.

Confirming the sad development via a statement released on Tuesday, the Academy Public Relations Officer, Bashir Muhd Jajira disclosed that the armed bandits killed two military personnels and one officer was abducted.

Jajira further stated that the Academy in collaboration with the 1Division Nigerian Army and Air Training Command as well as other security agencies in Kaduna state has since commenced pursuit of the unknown gunmen within the general area with a view to tracking them and rescue the abducted personnel.

The NDA community and Cadets are safe in the Academy. We assure the general public that this unknown gunmen would soon be apprehended and the abducted personnel rescued, the statement reads.
