Niger: Kidnappers Demand N60m as Ransom for Permanent Secretary, Son

Dr. Ibrahim Musa Garba, Permanent Secretary of the Niger State Ministry of Transport, has been kidnapped, and his abductors have demanded N60 million in ransom from his family.

WITHIN NIGERIA reports that Garba and his three-year-old son were abducted on Friday at a wedding ceremony at his home in Zungeru, Wushishi Local Government Area of the state.

According to a family source, the abductors phoned the family on Sunday evening and demanded the ransom before releasing him and his three-year-old kid.

According to the source, “The call by the kidnappers came on Sunday in the evening demanding N60 million. The source said the abductors later agreed to collect N30 million after pleading with them.”

The source further explained that the family cannot raise the N30 million to secure the release of Garba and his son.

He, therefore, appealed to the Niger State Government to come to the family’s rescue towards ensuring their release from their abductors.
