Kano police arrest man who specialises in stealing from women using seductive words

A suspected thief, Muhammad Saifullahi, who specialises robbing young women of their mobile phones and other valuables after using seductive words to win their love has been arrested by the police in Kano state.

Spokesperson of the command, DSP DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, who disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday November 17, said the 22-year-old suspect confessed to have deceived four ladies and made away with their valuables.

“On the 11/11/2021 at about 1600hrs, a report was received from a lady that resides in Sharada Quarters, Kano Municipal LGA, that one man went to their residence located at Sharada Quarters, approached and told her that he loved her,” the PPRO stated.

“He presented himself as Muhammad of Kwandila Quarters Kano, deceived her, collected her Mobile Phone and that of her younger brother, claiming that he will buy a new Mobile Phone for her. After he collected the Mobile Phones, he then told her that, he lost the key of his Motor Vehicle, that, they should help him to look for it. Since then, he disappeared and switch off the Mobile Phones

“On receipt of the report, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, fsi raised and instructed a team of Operation Puff Adder led by SP Abdulrahim Adamu, Divisional Police Officer Sharada to trace and arrest the culprit.

The Commissioner of Police also, directed the Command’s Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Abdullahi Haruna to carryout public enlightenment programs in the Television, Radio and other social media platforms on the development.

The Puff Adder team immediately swung in to action. Sustained intelligence-led patrol and credible information received led to the arrest of the suspect, Muhammad Saifullahi, ‘m’, 22 years old, of Ja’in Quarters Kano at Zoo-Road Kano. On preliminary investigation, the suspect confessed to be expert in using seductive words to win the love of his suspecting victims and also confessed to have deceived four ladies and made away with their Mobile Phones.”

Kiyawa said that the suspect will be charged to court upon completion of investigation.
