Northern group speaks on declaration of bandits as terrorists

The Northern Youths Council of Nigeria has reacted to ruling of a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, which  declared bandits as terrorists across the country.

WITHIN NIGERIA had reported that Justice Taiwo Taiwo of the Federal high court in Abuja declared the activists of two bandits groups, Yan Bindiga and Yan Ta’adda as acts of terrorism.

The group said it received the news with excitement, adding that they will welcome military operation against bandits as it is happening in Northeast against Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists.

Northern group President, Isah Abubakar and Director-General, Media and Publicity, Mock Samuel Kure, made this known in a statement jointly signed in Kaduna on Friday.

It said, “We will welcome full military operation in Northwestern and North Central parts of the country as it is happening in Northeast against Boko Haram and ISWAP elements which have drastically reduced their activities.”

They also urged the nation’s armed forces to now go all out to crush anybody seen given the terrorists moral support be it materially, morally or otherwise no matter how highly or lowly placed.

“The Northern Youths will stand with you in your quest to stamp out terrorism in the North and Nigeria at large,” it added.
