Nigeria needs to build on Buhari legacy, says Osinbajo

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo says Nigeria needs continuity of President Muhammadu Buhari government, adding that the retention of the present government policies will nudge the country to greater heights.

The number two citizen spoke during a courtesy visit to the palace of the Emir of Gwandu and Chairman, Kebbi State Traditional Rulers, Muhammadu Iliyasu Bashar.

He also described Buhari as open and transparent character.

“I believe strongly that the stage that our country is at, is one that requires continuity of the sort that will enable us achieve great results,” a statement by the vice president media aide Laolu Akande, quoted him to have said.

Speaking further, Osinbajo said, “I’ve served as vice president for the past seven years under the able leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari. During that seven-year period, I have had the unique opportunity to work with an open and transparent president.

“My experience is crucial, especially in governing a country of our size. This is why I decided to put myself forward to serve as president,” the vice president added.
