Kogi: Suspected ritualist burnt to death for allegedly causing disappearance of boy with white handkerchief

Suspected ritualist was burnt to death by angry mob at Okengwe area of Okene Local Government Area of kogi State

According to Daily Trust, a witness said the incident happened on Sunday afternoon at the Okengwe-Ogori junction on the way to Ibilo in Edo State.

The source said the man was alleged to have used a white handkerchief to hit a boy, causing him to disappear.

The news of the alleged encounter of the man and the said missing boy was said to have gone wild, which triggered youths to descend on the man.

Another witness said, “I saw this man at the popular filling station at Okene roundabout on Friday afternoon. He looked rough and behaved like someone that has an impairment in the head.’’

Meanwhile, the Chairman of Okene LGA, Abdulrazaq Muhammad, has condemned the act and charged security operatives to fish out the killers of the man.

The state police spokesman, SP William Aya, could not be reached to comment on the incident as at the time of filling this report.
