2022 World Cup: Perez makes claim on Lionel Messi

Nehuen Perez, a defender for Udinese, has stated that he is afraid to touch Lionel Messi of Paris Saint-Germain during Argentina’s training sessions because of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Perez has received calls to the Argentine national team in the past, but he has not yet earned his first senior-level cap for his nation.

The center back, however, has trained with Messi on numerous occasions.

Perez will train with Messi once again as he has made Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni’s latest 28-man squad for September.

However, Perez, who joined Udinese this summer from Atletico Madrid, joked that he is scared of touching Messi in training as he fears injuring him.

Speaking about training with the former Barcelona captain Messi, Perez told Ole that if ‘Messi gets injured, we’re in the oven”.

Perez said, “I’m always afraid of touching or injuring him. We have to take care of him, ha.

“If we get injured, we’re in the oven, we don’t have to be idiots.”
