Osun: Amotekun arrests gun-wielding suspects for unleashing attacks on residents

The Southwest Security Network codenamed Amotekun Corps, has arrested two gun-wielding suspects for unleashing attacks on residents of Ita-Olokan area of Osogbo, the Osun State capital.

The Corps Commander, Brig. Gen. Bashir Adewinbi (retd.) who disclosed this in a statement said the suspects, Afeez Olaniyan, 27, and Ismail Wahab, 23, were arrested with a locally made pistol gun.

Adewinbi further explained that Amotekun operatives arrested the suspects following a tip-off from the residents.

He said, “The hoodlums were arrested on Wednesday after receiving a distress call from the residents of the area on the activities of the suspects’ unleashing attack on the residents of Ita-Olokan Osogbo and its environs.

“Our operatives swung into action instantly after the complaint was made and the culprits were arrested and a locally made pistol gun was found on them at the time of their arrest.

“Upon investigation, they confessed to committing the act and using the firearm to protect themselves.”

The Amotekun boss added that the suspects have been handed over to the police for further interrogation.
