BREAKING: S’Court Reserves Judgement On Suit Seeking Sack Of Nwifuru As Ebonyi Gov

The Court of Appeal had earlier affirmed the election of Francis Nwifuru as the duly elected governor of Ebonyi State.

The Supreme Court reserved judgement on Monday in the petition challenging Francis Nwifuru’s election as governor of Ebonyi State.

After the parties engaged adopted their briefs of argument, the Supreme Court, presided over by Justice John Okoro, adjourned the matter to a later date that has yet to be announced.

The appeal followed a decision by the Lagos Court of Appeal, which upheld Nwifuru’s success. The ruling dismissed a plea submitted by Chukwuma Odii of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who had challenged the election results.

However, Odii, unsatisfied with the Court of Appeal’s decision, took his case to the Supreme Court, seeking to overturn Nwifuru’s election.
