Widow, victim of unpaid salary in Kogi slump, die after running around to borrow N20,000 for son’s school fee

Widow slumps, die in Kogi

It was gathered that the late Mrs. Noah, a widow, popularly known as Mama Danlandi in her working place, slumped and died in her residence in Lokoja, around 8pm on Thursday.

According to the Eyewitness, Aio White, she died after running around to borrow N20,000 to address a pressing need of one of her sons in the school without success.

She was a staff with the Kogi State Judiciary, according to reports, the deceased resumed work on Monday following the intervention of the National Judicial Council (NJC), in the trade dispute between the judiciary and the Kogi State government.

One of her colleagues said she didn’t show any sign of sickness or any form of discomfort in or around her until she closed and left for home on Thursday.

“Mama Danladi who had not taken salaries for the past one year, and a widow with children in tertiary institutions, was said to have scouted for just N20,000 three days ago to address pressing needs of one of her sons in school without success,”

The remains of late Mama Danladi was on Friday, taken to Idah, where she was buried according to Islamic rites in her village, Idah.

Below is Aio White’s claims about the late widow:

“ANOTHER IGALA VICTIM OF BELLO
Sadly, Igalaland lost one of her industrious and promising daughters, Mrs Fatima Noah. She is popularly known as mama Danladi among those that lives in Lokoja.

Mama Danladi, a widow with children in the tertiary institutions was one of the many victims of the Bello government who have not taken salaries for a year.

She met her death when she was said to have scouted for just #20,000 three days ago to address a pressing need of one of her sons in the school without success. Consequently annoyed, confused and frustrated, she collapsed and died a day later (yesterday around 8pm). She has been buried this morning at her Idah home according Islamic rite.

Before the paid agents of the government will come online to forge lies against her in defense of the anti people’s government in order to belie this sympathetic situation, let me be specific to mention that she was until her death a staff of the Kogi State High Court of Justice Lokoja.

She was one of those in the state judiciary who are not paid for a whole year which was the cause of her pains, depression, frustration, collapse and death.
May her soul rest in peace as we pray that God should guide and protect the many others that are still living under this sad condition and may God bring this government imposed pain, penury and destitution on our people to a quick end.”
