Executive Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle has given bandits in the state two months ultimatum to repent and surrender their weapons or face the military might of the government.

Matawalle gave the ultimatum on Tuesday while addressing journalists in Government House, Gusau.

He said any bandit who refused to accept the peace process would face serious consequences.

The governor added that in order to flush out the recalcitrant bandits, federal government would soon deploy additional 6000 soldiers to the state.

He said “I have given you up to two months to surrender your weapons and also repent and any bandit that refused to accept the peace process would be fought by the government.”

Matawale urged local government Sole Administrators and the traditional rulers to monitor their respective areas and report any attacks to the government.
