Yahaya Lawali, a Golden Eaglets defender, is expected to join Spanish giants Barcelona in the coming days, according to reports.
The right-back featured in all of the Golden Eaglets’ four games at the ongoing 2023 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations in Algeria.
Lawali was named Man of the Match in Nigeria’s opening two games against Zambia and Morocco.
The 16-year-old was also included in the group stage Best X1 by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that top clubs in Belgium and France were also interested in Lawali but Barcelona has won the race.
