Reps extend holiday by a week, give reason

Outstanding IGR in 2024 Budget

The House of Representatives has shifted its resumption date from holiday by one week.

The lower chamber, which was initially billed to resume on 16th April, will now return to legislative duties on 23rd April.

The development is contained in a statement issued by clerk of the House, Yahaya Danzaria on Thursday.

According to Danzaria, the postponement is to allow the completion of the renovation of green chamber which has been going on for two years.

“I write to respectfully inform you that the resumption date from the ongoing recess has been rescheduled from Tuesday, April 16, 2024, to Tuesday, April 23, 2024.

“This adjustment is necessary to allow for the completion of renovations to the chamber of the House of Representatives, ensuring its readiness for plenary sessions, henceforth.

“All inconveniences are highly regretted. Your understanding or cooperation regarding this change is highly appreciated. Please make necessary adjustments to your schedules and ensure your presence on the new resumption date,” the statement reads
