New facts have emerged about the OAU lecturer, Professor Richard Akinola, a lecturer in the management and accounting department of the faculty of administration at OAU, who has been accused of demanding five rounds of sex from a female final year student in his department before she can pass his course.

An audio recording detailing the conversation between the lecturer and the female student identified as Enitan, surfaced online yesterday.

A senior academic staff in the accounting department told Premiumtimes, that this is not the first time the lecturer has been accused of sexual impropriety. According to the lecturer who spoke on condition of anonymity, the professor was three years ago accused of the same offence, offering sex for marks.

The audio conversation which has gone viral on the Internet was believed to have been recorded and same was posted on YouTube and on other social media.

The female student, who concealed her identity initiated the call and asked the Prof.  about his earlier demand for sex to upgrade her score from 33 to a comfortable one.

Efforts to get the lecturer were not successful as of the time of filing this report.

However, the Public Relations Officer of the OAU, Mr. Abiodun Olanrewaju, when contacted on the telephone said the management had listened to the audio and added that the case would be investigated.

He said, “We have listened to the audio and we cannot cockade on it now because  this is the age of ICT, anything can happen. The university has a way of dealing with such.

“First and foremost, we will set up a committee to determine the veracity or otherwise of the conversation to establish the authenticity of the characters involved. If those involved happen to be our lecturer and student as it is portrayed, the university has a way of dealing with such.

It will be recalled that a former OAU lecturer, Fakoya, was recently exposed by a former medical student, Funke Dezam, who accused him of failing her at the medical school because she refused to allow him to have sex with her.
