The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, said plan to use underage and dead people for election was the main reason the President had allegedly refused to sign the electoral act amendment.

In a series of tweets on Thursday evening, the main opposition party said that Buhari was holding the country to ransom to achieve his personal ambition.

President Muhammadu Buhari Casting his vote

PDP wrote, “Why @MBuhari is jittery, embattled over Electoral Act: President @MBuhari, in his desperation to achieve a personal ambition, is holding the nation to ransom by refusing to sign the Electoral Act Amendment bill, passed by @nassnigeria to check manipulations during elections.

“The amendment bill also provides for Instant Transmission of Results from polling to collation centers which ensures real-time results and reduces human interferences and election malpractices, thus effectively checking the alteration of results by the @APC.
