The man identified as Sanni Abubakar was arrested by DSS and charged to court in 2012. He is said to be using a phone inside the prison to pose as DIG Taiwo and other senior police officers to defraud innocent citizens and other police officers all over the country.
According to DIG Taiwo Lakanu, a statement was obtained from the suspect inside the prison yesterday and the phone he’s been using to operate – has been confiscated by the prison authorities.
It was gathered that this is the 3rd time the prison officials are seizing phone from him.
Also the girlfriend who’s account he uses to defraud people and the Prison Warder who is facilitating the crime by collecting the money from the girlfriend and bringing to Sani Abubakar inside the prison, have all arrested.
