Lobi Stars FC players escape death enroute Makurdi, as their bus goes up in flame

Tragedy as a bus conveying Lobi Stars Football Club players was gutted by fire lastnight resulting into the injury of several players before Adaka Village on Naka Road, few kilometers away to Makurdi.

WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the bus gutted fire on their way back home after the football club defeated Kwara United with a lone goal in an NPFL 2019/2020 Match Day 22.

According to report, the incident occurred as a result of an auto electrical fault that sparked up the fire.

Several players sustained varying degrees of injuries while trying to escape from the burning bus but there was no loss of life.

It was also learnt that there was colossal losses in property as all the contents of the vehicle were burnt.

In a statement released by the club’s spokesman, Austin Tyowua, the club PRO disclosed that the injured players are receiving medical attention.

“The management enjoined the players to put back the incidence behind them and wear a renewed focus to their ambition of winning the league”  said Tyowua.

However, a video of the incident showing Lobi striker, Musa Najare appreciating God for saving their lives has surfaced on internet. The video was uploaded by Emmanuel Okwuluora Okoh Onyeka.

“Look at our car, look at Lobi Stars car. God thank you. Thank you Jesus. My name is Musa Najare, look at what is happening to us right now. This is our car, this is Lobi Stars car. Thank you Jesus for saving us,” he said.
