The suspension of the five daily and Juma’at prayers as part of measures to curb the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic in the country has been announced by the authorities of the National Mosque, Abuja.
This was contained in a statement released on Monday by the management of the mosque.
The management of the mosque stated that “with effect from March 23rd, not only prayers, the open space markets and restaurants attached to the mosque are also to be closed.
“In view of the current health issue, COVIC-19 crisis, the National Mosque management has decided to suspend the five day congregational and Jumu’ah prayers, gatherings and other activities in the mosques and its environs. Open space markets and restaurants attached to the mosque are also to be closed. While praying that Allah (SWT) to protect us from this pandemic and guide us aright, we kindly solicit for corporation and understanding of worshipers and the general public in this regard,” the statement read.
