Police arraigns pastor in court for raping epileptic minor

A self professed pastor identified as Peter Alatake of Holy Ghost Mission Church Ehinogbe, Owo has been dragged by the Ondo State Police Command before a Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Owo for allegedly raping a 16-year-old Secondary School girl in the town.

WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the pastor allegedly brutalized and repeatedly raped the victim who was said to have been suffering from epilesy during a deliverance session.

According to report, the 16 year old victim (names withheld) was put in the care of pastor Alatake last year to get healing from the epilepsy ailment she had been battling with for some time now.

It was further learnt that the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Adekola Olawoye SAN is prosecuting the case on behalf of the State.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the allegations on Wednesday when the charge was read to him.

The bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in the like sum was granted to Alatake by the presiding Magistrate, Olubumi Dosumu.

Dosumu ruled that one of the sureties must be, General Overseer of a reputable church in Owo and while the other must be a director in the civil service
