Recovered COVID-19 patients in Nigeria surpass 1,000

As Nigeria continues his fight against Coronavirus, the number of Nigerians who have been discharged after recovering from COVID-19 has exceeded the 1,000 mark.

According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), a total of 959 people who earlier tested positive for COVID-19 had fully recovered from the disease as of May 12.

Following the latest update from NCDC on Wednesday, May 13, Nigeria’s recovery figure rose to 1,070 after 111 patients were discharged from various treatment centres across the country.

Despite the increasing number of recoveries, Nigeria confirmed more positive cases of COVID-19 with the number of infections now at 4,971.

The nation’s death toll rose from 158 to 164, with six new fatalities.

In a related story, WITHIN NIGERIA reported that the founder of DAAR Communications Plc, Raymond Dokpesi and two members of his family has recovered from coronavirus (COVID-19) infection and has been discharged.

WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that their recovery comes two weeks after Dokpesi and seven other members of his family tested positive for COVID-19 four days after his son, Raymond Dokpesi Jnr announced he had the disease
