Tragedy struck in Kogi community on Tuesday as a truck reportedly crushed a father and his son to death.
WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the said truck was set ablazed by angry mob who witnessed the tragic incident.
According to an eyewitness account, the empty truck was about negotiating a bend when it lost control and crushed a pedestrian who was standing by the roadside together with his sons.
The middle aged man was crushed alongside one of his sons while the other son escaped the accident unhurt.
It was also learnt that onlookers who witnessed the incident set the truck ablaze.
Reacting to the sad incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in Kogi state, DSP William Aya confirmed the incident.
Aya who is a deputy superintendent of police, DSP said the truck lost control and crushed two pedestrians and injured one other person, who is currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
