Nigeria records 373 new cases of COVID-19, total now 48,116

As Nigeria continues its fight against Coronavirus, 373 new cases of the deadly virus have been recorded with a total of 48116 confirmed COVID-19 cases.

This was disclosed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Thursday night.

According to a tweet from the Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC, 34, 309 patients have now been discharged, with 966 patients losing their lives to the coronavirus.

The tweet revealed that Lagos State had the highest number of infections on Thursday night with 69 cases, with Osun State following with 41 cases.

In a related story, WITHIN NIGERIA reported that the Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved N8.49 billion for purchase of 12 assorted items for COVID-19 testing by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

The memo for the procurement was presented by the Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, on behalf of the centre at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The FEC meeting was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House in Abuja.
