A 32-year-old welder identified as Murtala Dare has been arrested by men of Kogi state police command for allegedly stabbing his friend to death during a scuffle.
WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the suspect, Dare was arrested at a hideout in the early hours of Monday August 17 and killed his friend, Lukman at Jackies area in Lokoja at about 9 p.m. on August 16.
It was also learnt that the welder got into a fight with the deceased following a heated argument.
According to report, Dare overpowered the deceased, smashed him to the ground and brought out a knife with which he stabbed him to death.
The suspect, Dare reportedly fled the scene before the police officers who were called in arrived.
Reacting to the sad incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, William Aya said investigation into the incident had commenced and the suspect would soon be charged to court.
